	•	Zinc and nuts high in zinc (essential for healthy skin)<br />

What I like to do is take a good multi-vitamin that has a small dose of all of the essential vitamins I need&#8230;Then I take larger doses of specific vitamins that I know are not dangerous. Of course I check with my doctor before I take any new vitamins. Also a lot of companies use low grade fillers in their multivitamins to artificially boost their nutritional ratings. Not many people know this, but nutritional facts ARE NOT CHECKED OFTEN. </p>
<p>As a result, we get these really overpriced, potentially dangerous and non-beneficial pills that are sold at pharmacies, supermarkets and even health food stores. I&#8217;m not saying that every multivitamin out there is evil, but you have to be careful which ones you trust.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve been called a health freak by some of my friends; a name which I wear proudly. Another name I&#8217;ve been called is very frugal (even cheap!) and I&#8217;m not ashamed of that either! I frankly don&#8217;t have $200 or $300 laying around to spend on my health every month. So I have to make the choice: stay healthy or get evicted!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3>SUGAR IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH IN AMERICA!</h3>
<p>The average American now consumes between 150-200 pounds of sugar every year. In the year 1890 consumption was only 5 lbs. per year. Diseases like heart disease and cancer basically didn&#8217;t exist in those times. Sugar plays a key role in both of these diseases and has been linked to these causes of death. Sugar is also the criminal in today&#8217;s obesity crisis.</p>
<p>When we eat sugar in it&#8217;s simplest form (sucrose) our body reacts in a surprising way. You would think that something that tastes good would be received nicely in our system. This is not the case. Our bodies are not made to eat sugar in this pure form, we are supposed to get our necessary sugar through natural means, like fruit and vegetables. Our body releases insulin to lower our blood sugar levels eventually leading to diabetes one of the top 10 causes of death in America in 2006. Not only does insulin fluctuation cause diabetes but it also causes high blood pressure, fat storage and high cholesterol, which all cause heart disease; the #1 cause of death in the world claiming 631,636 people in America in 2006.<br />

Insulin also puts the imune system into a stat of shock making us susceptible to viruses and infections like the influenza virus and pneumonia which killed 56,326 people in America in 2006 making it one of the top ten cause of death.</p>
<p>If that&#8217;s not enough to convince you, sugar is what allows cancer to grow and spread around the body enough to kill. <em><strong>Sugar is Cancer&#8217;s fuel.</strong></em></p>
<blockquote><p>German Otto Warburg, Ph.D., the 1931 Nobel laureate in medicine, first discovered that cancer cells have a fundamentally different energy metabolism compared to healthy cells. The gist of his Nobel thesis was this: malignant tumors frequently exhibit an increase in &#8220;anaerobic glycolysis&#8221; &#8211; a process whereby glucose is used by cancer cells as a fuel with lactic acid as an anaerobic by-product &#8211; compared to normal tissues.(1) The large amount of lactic acid produced by this fermentation of glucose from the cancer cells is then transported to the liver. This conversion of glucose to lactate creates a lower, more acidic PH in cancerous tissues as well as overall physical fatigue from lactic acid build-up.(2,3) Therefore, larger tumors tend to exhibit a more acidic PH.(4)</p>
<p>Hence, cancer therapies should attempt to regulate blood-glucose levels through diet, supplements, exercise, medication when necessary, gradual weight loss and stress reduction. Since cancer cells derive most of their energy from anaerobic glycolysis, the goal is not to eliminate sugars or carbohydrates entirely from the diet but rather to control blood-glucose within a narrow range to help starve the cancer cells and boost immune function.</p></blockquote>
<p><em>I personally found this out the hard way.</em> I contracted brain cancer when I was three years old and had to do radiation therapy and eventually surgery. This left me with a disability in my left hand, and a huge scar on my skull. Sugar is likely the cause of my brain cancer since I was at such a young age.</p>
<p>Be careful with your children. You really don&#8217;t want them to die, do you? I was lucky, but not everyone is.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Water&#8230;The first step to changing your life&#8230;</p>
<p>I know everybody knows that there is a lot of water in our body. In fact, our bodies are made up of 60-70% water! What does that mean for our health?</p>
<p>We need water!</p>
<p>No ifs, ands, or buts about it! Get out of your seat right now, go to the kitchen and turn on your tap. Don&#8217;t read one more single word until you have a cup of water in your hand&#8230;I think I&#8217;ll do the same myself&#8230;(walks to kitchen, gets cup of water, sits back down)</p>
<p>Now where was I&#8230;oh yes&#8230;(sips some water)&#8230;Our bodies are constantly loosing water, so, we must replenish! (sips some more water) You&#8217;ve probably heard that we need 8 cups of water a day&#8230;.although this is true, the reality is that we need much more than that especially if we are overweight or obese. Bigger people have more water in them, so they need to replenish more water.<br />
<em><br />
&#8220;I only drink 7 cups of water a day, and a cup of juice or milk, what&#8217;s wrong with that?&#8221;</em> I&#8217;ll tell you what is wrong, to be frank, you are <strong>killing yourself.</strong></p>
<p>You see, when we don&#8217;t drink enough water:</p>
<p>1.	Our kidneys don&#8217;t function right</p>
<p>2.	Our liver takes over the kidney&#8217;s work load</p>
<p>3.	Our liver slacks off on it&#8217;s other responsibilities, like turning fat into energy.</p>
<p>4.	All hell breaks loose &#8211; Our cells don&#8217;t get the energy they need and we put on dead weight, age faster, and develop an unhealthy diet.</p>
<p>5.	Our body thinks that we don&#8217;t have access to water so it stores the water that we do have &#8211; causing water retention</p>
<p>6.	Not enough water makes it into our blood stream causing toxic build ups, heart problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and constipation.</p>
<p>7.	This all takes it&#8217;s toll on the immune system, brain, digestive system and glands &#8211; causing us to get sick, depressed, and get cancer.</p>
<p>8.	We go to the hospital, but it&#8217;s too late. Our body is finished. We die.</p>
<p><strong>The good news is&#8230;.it doesn&#8217;t have to end that way!!!!!</strong></p>
<p>The reason we can&#8217;t just drink juice instead is because there is less water in juice. There are things like sugar, flavors and other compounds that make up what juice is, water is only a small fraction of what you are drinking.</p>

<p>Don&#8217;t even get me started on soda. I&#8217;ll have to write another article about that. In short&#8230;soda is as bad or worst than cigarettes for your health.<br />

THE SOLUTION!&#8212;&#8212;-&gt;Water drinking&#8230;Do it or Die.</strong></p>
<p>When we stratigically manage our water intake some very magical things happen.</p>
<p>1.	Our system is detoxified.<br />
2.	Our digestive system returns to normal &#8211; our appetite decreases.<br />
3.	We Burn fat<br />
4.	Our kidneys function as full capacity<br />
5.	Our liver works better<br />
6.	We loose weight and water retention goes away<br />
7.	Mood improves<br />
8.	The list goes on&#8230;.<br />
